The context of the job :
Our partner is an European leader in various online tourism services (trips, cruise, hotels, airplane tickets, etc.) The sites developed and maintained by our Pentalog dedicated IT specialists, add-up over 70 millions visualizations and 5 millions unique visitors each month.
This dedicated team you will join, has currently 18 members: a Project Manager, 2 Java Architects, 10 Java/J2EE Developers, a Business Intelligence Specialist, 2 Testers and 2 Webmasters.
Your job is to integrate multimedia modules, JavaScript and Ajax development in the pages of our customer’s websites, to translate static design into dynamic pages in tight collaboration with the backend developers and by applying state of the art technologies and patterns. You will also work on continuously improving the websites load performance and search engine performance.
Independent and rigorous, you will be directly communicating with different client interlocutors in order to obtain the necessary specifications for the assigned tasks and to provide regular progress reports.
What it takes to join us as a talented Web Application Developer :
- A responsible attitude and ambition in achieving your mission: to ensure a high quality content and a proper function of all the sites that the company is managing;
- Design and specify user interactions for new product applications;
- Advanced understanding of and experience with user-centered interaction design principles and Web ergonomics
Communicate designs through static screens, mockups and interactive prototypes;
- Work with usability engineers (including from the client side) to translate findings from user research and validate your design;
- Propose, explain and promote new interface guidelines and design patterns;
- Solid technical background experience (minimum 2-3 years) with HTML, CSS, advanced JavaScript and Jquery;
- Previous experience with any Ajax framework is a strong advantage;
- Any previous experience with Photoshop, Flash or other graphic technologies will help you in this job;
- Source control and bug tracking tools are common companions during your work;
- High autonomy translated in the capacity of taking decisions and finding the best solutions;
- Knowledge of Freemarker or any other web templating library would be appreciated;
- A degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent qualification from previous collaborations;
- Very good level of English (both spoken and written), French would be a significant plus.
